Just want it to be known even though I have a running list of things I miss I will be depressed by the time I have to return back home. I've never been so happy before in my life, Europe is just a big cloud 9! This weekend I traveled to Frienze (Florence) for a short weekend. Florence is a lot smaller then Rome, you could walk to anywhere in Florence in just about 15 minutes. It was a nice change of pace from Rome. The sights and leather shops were just what I was looking for. I am looking forward to headed back to Florence and being able to show my mom around in a couple weeks and hoping it is a little warmer so we don't have to stop in a cafe every 10 minutes. Saturday we took a day trip to Venice for Carnival (Similar to Mardi Gras). Venice was exactly what I pictured of Italy before coming here. This was the first weekend of Carnival bringing in people from all over to the city. I even took part and wore a fun mask but most people were a little bit more decked out in costumes head to toe. It was interesting to see how everyone was dressed up. The one thing I wish I could have done while in Venice was a gondola ride but it was a little too cold to be on a boat. Its crazy that the first time I come to Europe it also has to be the coldest its been in 30 years here.. bummer. This coming weekend will be the first time we stay in Rome in 4 weeks.. YIKES. Then next weekend headed to Paris..and the adventures continue!
